It's that time. Offices close. shirts are untucked, and the city begins its quest to let loose. Fortunately, Saigon offers a nightlife rich in options.

6:00 PM
You've made it to the happiest hour of the day: that's right, happy hour. What could be sweeter? Luckily, Saigon is full of lively bars, many with deals to have you wash away your work day stress and strain.

Right in the heart of downtown, tucked away in a colonial building and secluded courtyard is the Refinery (74 Hai Ba Trung, D1). The laid-back patio surrounded by leafy plants and outfitted with wooden, colonial-style furniture and warm lighting is framed in the shadow of the imposing French-influenced structure. With its low, ambient lighting and mellow, mutted tones, the space is ideal for intimate discussions.

Right around the corner, Pacharan (97 Hai Ba Trung, D1) is a charming Spanish alternative with happy hour from 5-7 pm and free sangria all day very Sunday. There's no lovelier place to watch Saigon's mad rush hour than Paracharan's rooftop, with an open terrace overlooking one of the most insanely crowded corners of the city, as well as the Opera House and Park Hyatt Hotel. While plesing the eye with both its panoramic city views and stylish interior decoration, Pacharan's penthouse bar beckons with its luxirous lounge atmosphere and reputable wine collection.

Time for what Vietnamese expression terms "stomach drumming". Whether you are casual about your food or taste buds rule your life, Saigon offers literally thousands of options from local eateries to up market in ternational restaurants

Catergorised as a "continental" dining venue, Le Jardin (31 Thai Van Lung, D1) is a cozy petoe French restaurant hidden in the back garden of the IDECAF French cutural centre. While the indoor dining area offers all the charm of a country garden, a welcome respite from the city's busy street. The menu is small, yet every dish is meticulously crafted, a treat for the eyes and the palate. If you are not into their divinely fresh salads, which always bring me to my knees, the daily specials are always worth a bite.

Of course by this time, more drinking is probably in order, and the lusty red tones of Quin (31 Dong Du, D1) make it one of my favourites. Quin is artful in its luxyriousness, yet relaxing all the same. The chic glass in door bar houses a wide selection of wines from around the world, including some of the corner at the back of the bar or on the petile open terrace at the front. Located on Dong Du street, right in the centre of Saigon's up market entertainment district, Quin is the perfect place to mix with the city's glitterati while enjoying either glass of bubbly or an expertly mixed cocktail.

11:30PM
The night is getting on, and by now you should have drunk enough to drown your sorrows and bring any intellectual conversations to a halt. In other words, shall we dance? Here and everywhere around town, by 11:30, the dance floor is warming up. A new star worthy of mention is Cage Bar (3A Ton Duc Thang, D1). Having gained a certain notoriety back in his dasy at Manna, manager Florent Moncant has now bruoght his magic touch to Cage, turning it into one of the city's real hot spots. Thanks to to the manager's enthusiasm and charm. It has become a happening place with regular weekly and monthly DJ events where the temperature quickly reaches boiling point.

My impressions on Vietnam

It was the first time I traveled to Vietnam with some of my friends so Vietnam was very strange to me. Everything was new, at first, of course I was a little bit worried. But luckily we had an excellent guide. I still remember his name is Long, he is 4 years older than us. He is such a responsible guide that we all keep our minds on traveling and enjoy great days exploration in Vietnam.

I quickly got on well with the new lifestyle in Vietnam. The Vietnamese are very friendly and kind. They are always ready help us whenever we have any troubles. Thanks for the tour I made friends with some Vietnamese and up to now we are still good pen friends.

Although Vietnam is a small country in South East Asia. It is a developing, I mean that it is not a very rich one, but all Vietnamese people can be proud of the country rich in tourism resources. Vietnam owns a number of destinations. It has heritages like Halong Bay, Hoi an ancient town;cultural sites like Mai Chau, Sapa; natural sites like Cuc Phuong National Park, Minh Hai National Park, etc. I think that Vietnam has such a hidden charm that it is difficult for you to discover and understand all. That also is the reason why Vietnam has been attracting more and more tourists all over the world.

The government has made any efforts to improve the quality of tourism products such as build more first class hotels and resorts; pay more attention to quality of food and services... Thanks for this many foreign visitors more believe and travel to Vietnam.

I myself was attracted by Vietnam. I love the country and want to explore it more and more...

Vietnam at glance

When you hear someone say the word "Vietnam", what will you think of? Yes, may be you can think that it is a brave country in the wars against powerful countries as: China, France and America. Other can think that it is a small country in Asia that is so strange to them... However, these words always remind me of the romantic vacation that my darling and I had last year.

You know it is very difficult for us to decide which country to travel. There are so many attractive places, but at last we choose Vietnam because of a very simple reason, traveling to Vietnam seems to cheaper than others country. We worry a bit at first... But you know, Vietnam is so beautiful, we traveled 3 biggest cities in Vietnam and each one left us different feelings

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam is one of the most peaceful we have come. Hanoi is the mixture of the old and the new. We were very lucky when we travel here in the best time, spring. I could not forget the time when we hands in hands walking along the Thanh Nien street or old corner of Hanoi. Many couples do like that, they looked happy and romantic. Another interesting thing is that shopping in Hanoi is so cheap. You can buy clothes, shoes, hats,a many things that you want in many streets such as: Doi Can, Le Thanh Tong...

Ho Chi Minh, is the biggest and most modern city in Vietnam. Unlike Hanoi Ho Chi Minh city has only 2 seasons. I like Ho Chi Minh because of its luxurious restaurants with the delicious food and professional service.

Danang is a port city of Vietnam. I love the beaches in Danang with white sand and clean water like Ca Na or Ninh Chu beach. Hoi An is an ancient town in Danang. Have you ever visited? If not yet, you should make plan to travel here, you can find a lot of interesting things. I am sure
